Starting at the ripe age of five, I received my musical training in
the New York area during my grade school and high school years with the
late Polish immigrant and concert pianist Adam Kapuscinski. While my
formal training is classical, I played for many years in different bands
- top 40 bands, show bands, function (wedding)
bands, even a duo. Since moving to Portland, Oregon in 1985, I have played solo
recitals, weddings, holiday parties and other functions.
Available for solo recitals, weddings, holiday parties, other functions -- just about anywhere you need some music to set the mood!
Solo piano recitals
From Bach and Beethoven to Ravel and Rachmaninoff, I look forward to sharing music by the masters with you.
"...thanks for your magisterial concert at Old Church on Wed. Had never heard of you before but you came highly recommended by our friend, the hyper-critical amateur scrutinizer (and professional Harvard-trained scrivener), Dick... He warned us you were quite good, to anticipate amazement. Your selections were wonderful, performance flawless to our adoring ears. So delightful was your performance we forgot to eat our sandwiches, savored them and your talents on a bench over in the Park Blocks. Altogether, the best Wednesday with the best music in the best city in America." -- Leon, Glenda, and Bill, Vancouver WA

"Philip played for a birthday event in our garden. He was a welcome member of the party. He is intuitive and talented. He is flexible and very social. He arrived on time, dressed well, played beautifully, and added a touch of elegance to our party. Many of our guests complimented us on the music. We were delighted to have him come and play." "Phil was fabulous to work with. My mom contacted him and completed all of the business side of things, but she reported that he was very polite and had amazing customer service. When I finally met him on the day of my wedding I was impressed by how gracious and personable he is. During the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, his piano playing was incredible and it added so much flair and elegance to the event." -- Alyx, Portland OR
